Baker, a few words of the song captured my attention and resonated in my soul… “a love that is stronger than death”. I began to think of the absolute, pure love that is the whole being of the Heavenly Father and how it is this very thing that conquered death and resurrected the Son of God. His love for us, His precious creation, was so fiery and so intense that it broke through the darkness of death and exploded it into life… through the Son! It was LOVE that was stronger than death, and it birthed life everlasting! As I thought about this, all these examples of how love is stronger than death came to mind. He shows us every single day in so many ways, to the point that if we noticed and pondered, we would be in a constant flow of receiving this love and pouring it back out to Him and others. It is His love given and received by us that begins the whole process of our rebirth and anointing. And it is this same love that will keep us as we wait until Yahusha redeems us unto eternal life. But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Master Yahusha ha Mashiach unto eternal life. Jude 1:20-21 One of the things I thought about was sleeping and waking up. Sleeping is a type and shadow of death. Every night we go to sleep and enter into a realm where we are oblivious to our surroundings and hours go by like minutes. We are in a form of death, although it is not yet permanent. And every morning, we wake up. Many of us “just wake up”, and this is nothing short of the love of God, Almighty Yahuah, awakening us in His faithfulness. It is Him who wakes us up – He has kept us all night, and He gently wakes us up to see His new day that He has made for us. What a beautiful display and constant reminder that His love for us is stronger than death! Many of us know and understand the depth of the spiritual beauty of each day’s dawn and what it brings. Dawn, the very moment when light breaks through the deep darkness of night, is the same display of a love that is stronger than death. Night is the time when darkness takes over, the light is extinguished, and activity ceases… again, just like death and just like the deep darkness that covered the earth before the Father said, “Let there be light”. But yet every single morning without fail, His love breaks through to bring us His life – dew is on the grass, crispness is in the air, birds and animals are revived, and signs of life are everywhere. This is exactly why joy comes and mercies are brand new in the morning (Psalm 30:5 & Lamentations 3:22-23). Note that the Hebrew word for “morning” in both of these scriptures means dawn, before the sun comes up. Everything is brand new and full of light and life… because love was stronger than death!! I just have to take this opportunity to expand on the scripture in Lamentations 3:22-23: Through Yahuah’s mercies we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23 The magnitude of each new day where He displays to His creation that He has conquered death, hell, and the grave is boundless and immeasurable. Because His love conquered death, He gifts to us another day of life… another day to choose Him, to repent, to worship, to praise, and to live for Him. He gives us new mercies after new mercies day after day after day. This is what He shows us every single morning as He breaks through the darkness and lifts us up out of sleep back to life – once again that love is stronger than death. These additional words from the song I mentioned above are surely applicable as well… “Every day, I’ll rise to bring you praise.” There is so much to praise Him for as we rise each morning – more than we realize and often more than we remember. Isn’t it amazing that we have a Heavenly Father whose being is only light and love… so much that anything opposed to this light and love cannot stand in His presence? To ponder this can be overwhelming. He is an explosion of light and love! And He made us, keeps us, and will fully redeem us to Himself in this love! His love is so strong and powerful that it took darkness and lifelessness – full blown death – and exploded it back into life. And because He did this in His Son on our behalf, we wait in joyful expectation that this same life will explode in us and lift us out of the grave of death to be with Him for all of eternity. Again, overwhelming! So as we go through this journey with our Beloved King, Savior, Advocate and Husband, we learn more and more how to set aside our own self-ish thoughts of rejection, doubt, shame, and condemnation and receive His love that is stronger than death. Fully receiving this love has been a long journey for me, and I know others close to me who have struggled as well. The Father understands why our flesh battles receiving this type of love, although we see it and believe it wholeheartedly in others. But it hurts Him for us to stay there. We simply must know that our first moment of salvation – the explosion of light and love into a stone, cold heart of sin where many of us were at our very worst – is the initial undeserved display of His love for us that will NEVER die, because it conquered death in its fullness! And it will conquer all forms of death within us to the end – He will finish this work! We must believe Him!! His love as I’ve shared here and is written all throughout His Word does not change or diminish – it cannot; it is His very being!! His love is stronger than the death in you and me!! His love never fails! As we walk in absolute joy and confidence knowing – really knowing – His love for us, then it will be part of our being as well, just as it is His. And then, we can walk in full faith of this scripture below, whether we are being persecuted, rejected, or staring death in the face… because HIS LOVE WILL ALWAYS BE STRONGER THAN DEATH! Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:35-39 In closing, I would like to share the words from the song I mentioned at the beginning of this post as well as the song itself. I pray you will take the time to seclude yourself, close the door, and listen and worship the Father who offers the only thing that truly will satisfy your soul… a love that is stronger than death!
